I got my shipment from Amazon half a month back and in a specific order was a mixed drink shaker, a muddler and blending spoon set, and a twofold jigger. What's more, they are all faaaaantastic. The Oggi shaker is particularly extraordinary in light of the fact that it remains shut when you're shaking it, so you don't need to stress over it spilling. I love it.
I thought the main mixed drink I needed to make with this was a maple leaf since it's one of my most loved go-tos when I visit a portion of my preferred bars (Green Street and Brick and Mortar work admirably), however I needed to have some good times with fixings and blueberries were the main organic product I had available, so I went from maple leaf to a blueberry whiskey crush! In any case, that wasn't sufficient in light of the fact that I needed to jumble everything. I considered which herbs I was developing this season and the just a single I think would function admirably in a mixed drink like this was basil – and I had two sorts to look over!
I've made this beverage a couple of times now and have gone to and fro between sweet basil and Greek basil since I have them both on my windowsill at any rate. Either will work extraordinary and it adds a pleasant clean taste to the mixed drink! I likewise dabbled with the measure of maple syrup each time since I made it excessively sweet from the outset, yet I believe it's at a decent spot now. Jason truly appreciated the beverage as well! Likewise, the mix of the basil, blueberries, lemon and maple makes this beverage sort of hazardous in light of the fact that it doesn't generally pose a flavor like alcohol is even in there! I believe that is something to be thankful for?

Ingredients
- 1-2 fresh basil leaves I used Greek basil, but sweet basil works perfectly too
- 1/4 cup fresh blueberries
- 1/2 ounce maple syrup
- juice from half a lemon
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 5-6 ice cubes
- 1 lemon twist for garnish optional

- Add basil, blueberries, and maple syrup to a shaker and muddle to release juices from the basil and blueberries.
- Add in lemon juice, bourbon, and ice cubes.
- Top shaker with lid and shake, shake, shake!

Notes
*Alternately, you can strain the cocktail into your glass to leave the basil and blueberries behind, but then it wouldn't be so much of a smash. It's tasty either way, though!
